This makes it an ideal modality for guiding and monitoring medical procedures including but not limited to needle biopsy and low-dose rate permanent brachytherapy s eed placement. MRIcompatibility necessitates that both the device should not di sturb the scanner function and should notcreate image artifacts, and that the s canner should not disturb the device functionality. Generally, thedevelopment o f sensors and actuators for applications in MR environments requires careful con siderationof safety and electromagnetic compatibility constraints.
