Withoutspeaker covers, fine dust particles can get inside the speaker and reduce sound quality or sound delivery.“One drawback to the use of speaker covers is the influence the speaker cover ca n have on producedsound. For example, at higher frequencies, the sound of the s peaker can be affected. A conventionalapproach to implementing speaker covers i s to calibrate the speaker to account for the speaker cover.However, such appro aches generally result in reduced sound quality when the speaker cover is remove dand do not allow for automatic recalibration should a different type of speake r cover be used.”
