Due to the limitations of conventional travel plann ing options, the planning, booking, payment,etc., of vacation and holiday trips tends to fall on a single member of the traveling group. Customerresearch show s that when using online resources for planning a vacation, a person may have up to30 internet browser tabs open in order to coordinate itinerary items such as destination, airfare, flightschedules, hotels/lodging, etc. Such task saturati on may then be exacerbated by competing information,data, wishes, wants, opinio ns, schedules, budgets, etc., of the planner’s travel companions. This may leadto an overload of tasks for the planner; the planner becoming disillusioned with the anticipated travel, andan oversight of preferred travel arrangements for t he other members of the traveling group. Additionally,conventional methods of t ravel planning causes missed opportunities for travel service and managementpro viders to enhance customers’ experience by leveraging information.”
