Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Robots (e.g., machines configured to automatically/autonomous ly execute physical actions) are nowextensively used in many fields. Robots, fo r example, can be used to execute various tasks (e.g., manipulateor transfer an object) in manufacturing, packaging, transport and/or shipping, etc. In executi ng the tasks,robots can replicate human actions, thereby replacing or reducing human involvements that are otherwise required to perform dangerous or repetitiv e tasks. Robots often lack the sophistication necessary toduplicate human sensi tivity and/or adaptability required for executing more complex tasks. For example, robots often have difficulty selectively gripping object(s) from a group of o bjects with immediatelyneighboring objects, as well as irregular shaped/sized o bjects, etc. Accordingly, there remains a need forimproved robotic systems and techniques for controlling and managing various aspects of the robots.”
