Ambiguity is understood as a type of uncer tainty that allows for more than oneplausible interpretation of an utterance. A mbiguity can introduce problems for NLP systems designedto, for example, execut e machine translation, determine sentiment, or perform automatic speech recognition. The inventors have found that there exists an urgent and unmet need for a s ystem or method thatcan identify and resolve mis-transcriptions that can arise from phonetic ambiguity and degraded acousticsignals in large datasets of call transcripts.”
