By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News - From Washington, D.C., NewsRx journali sts report that a patent application by the inventor Fossum, Justin Carl (Horseh eads, NY, US), filed on September 28, 2023, was made available online on April 2 5, 2024. No assignee for this patent application has been made. News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: “Robotic manipulator systems may have various applications in automation, such as industrial production, medical procedures, manufacturing, machining, and assembly, where highly-repetitive procedures may be performed. I n such systems, robotic manipulator systems may have different sizes and scales and may be configured to perform processes on a variety of apparatuses and syste ms. In some cases, precision and accuracy are highly valuable to the processes p erformed with robotic manipulator systems. For example, robotic manipulator syst ems may be implemented for precise and accurate object retrieval and placement, where the robotic manipulator systems may retrieve an object from an initial pos ition, move the object over some distance, and place the object at a final posit ion (e.g., the same as or different than the initial position). In some cases, however, operations of robotic manipulator systems for precise and accurate objec t retrieval and placement may present challenges that adversely affect operation al efficiency.”
