By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News - New research on artificial intelligenc e is the subject of a new report. According to news reporting from Changchun, Pe ople’s Republic of China, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “Traditional o bject detection algorithms operate within a closed set, where the training data may not cover all real-world objects.” The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Changchun Univer sity of Science and Technology: “Therefore, the issue of open-world object detec tion has attracted significant attention. Open-world object detection faces two major challenges: “neglecting unknown objects” and “misclassifying unknown objec ts as known ones.” In our study, we address these challenges by utilizing the Re gion Proposal Network (RPN) outputs to identify potential unknown objects with h igh object scores that do not overlap with ground truth annotations. We introduc e the reselection mechanism, which separates unknown objects from the background .”
