Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Auto dealerships today may typically post photos of vehicles online for sale, rent, or other leasing arrangements. When potential buyers, ren ters, or lessors (collectively referred to as “users”) are viewing inventory of these vehicles online, it may be difficult for the users to identify existing da mages on or within the vehicles. If the user undertakes the burden to physically drive to the location of the vehicle with the intent of the buying, renting, or leasing the vehicle, seeing existing damage (often for the first time) on the v ehicle may create a negative experience for the user. There is thus a desire for a reliable means for identifying and presenting existing damage of vehicles. Sy stems and methods are presented to overcome one or more of the shortcomings pres ented above.”
