News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: “Robotic devices have become increasingly common across a v ery broad spectrum ranging anywhere from artificial intelligence (AI) devices to mobile robotic devices that traverse an environment. In turn it is increasingly likely that robotic devices will interact with each other in their respective w ork environments. Therefore, it is important that these robotic devices be able to communicate with and build relationships with each other in order to increase working efficiency. It is further important for robotic devices to be able to a ttain levels of trust with each other in the interest of security and preventing hacking. The best approach is similar to how humans build a positive working re lationship, where that working relationship is strengthened with each interaction.”
