News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: “A robotic system may be tasked with moving one or more ite ms from a first location to a second location. The robotic system selects to mov e one of the one or more items. The robotic system uses a robotic arm end effect or to grasp the selected item. However, depending on the size or shape of the se lected item, it may be difficult to determine whether the robotic arm end effect or actually grasped the selected item. It can be difficult, in particular, to di stinguish between a missed grasp and a successful grasp of a very thin item or f eature, since finger position relative to each other may be only slightly different.”
