The machine concepts also advantageous ly relate to supplying and moving the workpieces and/or components onward. Such apparatuses for acting on workpiece portions or for clinching are also generally referred to as joining tongs below. “Preferably, press-in elements may be understood to be functional elements and i n the set state on the workpiece have an additional function in an outward direc tion, for example, a connecting or fixing portion, such as, for example, an exte rnal thread for connecting the connecting or fixing portion to another portion.
