According to news reporting from Assam, India, by NewsRx journa lists, research stated, “The friction stir welding (FSW) process is not free fro m deleterious residual stress that can be considered as a defect whose intensity varies with the process parameters. The mechanical properties of a joint are ve ry sensitive to residual stress for dissimilar FSW due to the non-uniform heat f low and material properties.”
