Abstract
The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: “Typically, traffic incidents may occur on roads or links due to large amount of traffic. A reliable information about such traf fic incidents is required by traffic management systems in order to take necessa ry steps. For example, the information related to the traffic incidents is requi red for providing medical help to users associated with the incident. The inform ation related to the traffic incidents is further utilized for providing congest ion warnings to nearby vehicles, to inform them to avoid a site of the incident. However, the information related to the traffic incidents received by the traff ic management systems may be unreliable, as the information may be transmitted b y sensors of a vehicle affected in the accident. In certain scenarios, the infor mation related to the traffic incidents received by the traffic management syste ms needs to be verified for accurate identification of the traffic incident. How ever, on certain road which does not have enough traffic, it is difficult to ver ify the traffic incidents.
