According to news reporting out of Amsterdam, Net herlands, by NewsRx editors, research stated, “Literature on nationwide long-ter m permanent stoma rates after rectal cancer resection in the minimally invasive era is scarce. The aim of this population-based study was to provide more insigh t into the permanent stoma rate with interhospital variability (IHV) depending o n surgical technique, with pelvic sepsis, unplanned reinterventions and readmiss ions as secondary outcomes.” Financial support for this research came from KWF Kankerbestrijding.
