Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "Medical imaging systems may be used to generate 3-dimensional (3D) images of a 3D volume of a body. With cone beam reconstruction, a mechanic al device holding an x-ray emitter and an x-ray collector moves in a circular pa th around an isocenter, typically at a fixed radial distance from the isocenter. An O-Arm Imaging System (e.g., produced by Medtronic), for example, may be used to provide intraoperative 2- dimensional/3-dimensional x-ray imaging. In such sy stems, an image of a 3D volume can be reconstructed using the fixed radial dista nce and respective rotational positions of each of a plurality of 2D cone beam x -ray shots taken from different positions around the O-Arm.
