This letter intro duces a novel helical magnetic microrobot designed and manufactured with integra ted consideration for structural functionality and controllability." Financial support for this research came from Mingche Biotechnology Company, Ltd . The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Shanghai University, "The microrobot is capable of autonomous rotational motion and effective grindin g removal of simulated arterial plaque invitro. A magnetic control system emplo ying three sets of orthogonally placed Helmholtz coils is presented, providing a uniform rotating magnetic field. To validate the proposed design, in-vitro expe riments including linear velocity measurement, path control, and semi-occluded p laque grinding are conducted. An efficient closed-loop control strategy is propo sed for semi-occluded plaque removal, allowing real-time adjustments of grinding mode, intensity, moving direction, and speed based on image feedback of the mic rorobot's position and plaque conditions, thus achieving efficient and precise p laque removal."
