Chad is currently facing a deficit in electricity supply, a low rate of access to electricity and above all, a highcost of the kilowatt-hour due to the heavy dependence on fossil fuels, the lack of interconnection withneighbouring countries and low integration of renewable energies in electricity production. The presentpaper aims to evaluate the wind energy potential of Chad using thirteen commonly used methods to determinethe Weibull parameters. A period of 31 years was used to collect the wind speed data of the 23 regionsof Chad. The statistical analysis was performed through the computation of the coefficient of determination, the root mean square error and chi-square test. The wind energy of Chad was found to be of class 3of the power classification for one region (Faya-largeau), class 2 for two regions (Amdjarass and Fada) andclass 1 for the other regions.
