Abstract

According to news reporting originating from Offenburg University by N ewsRx correspondents, research stated, “An aging society paired with a skilled l abor shortage, particularly in European countries, requires a rethinking of depr ecated structures.” Our news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Offenburg University: “Intelligent assistive technologies, specifically socially assistive robots, ad dressing the gap between caretakers and elderly people in need of care have move d into the focus of debate due to their potentials to reduce costs, improve inde pendence, and eventually raise quality of life. In this work, we outline the pot entials of zoomorphic robot companions combining intelligent conversational abil ities and emotion recognition. We then describe the prototyping of an emotion-se nsing zoomorphic interactive robot companion including the development and imple mentation of a multimodal emotion recognition framework. This framework uses spe ech emotion recognition, sentiment analysis, and affective voice interaction bas ed on a large language model.”
