Abstract

The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: “Direct teaching, which involves detecting the f orce applied by an operator with a built-in sensor and changing the position and posture of the robot according to the magnitude and direction of the detected f orce, is known (for example, see Japanese Unexamined Patent Application, Publica tion No. 2019-34412). The operator grasps a handle attached to the wrist tip of the robot, applies a force to the robot, and, at a required position, presses a teaching button near the handle to perform a teaching operation.”
