Abstract

The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: “Transportation matching systems commonly use we b and mobile applications to manage on-demand requests for transportation from p roviders. By using such web and mobile applications, ondemand transportation ma tching systems pair providers with requestors to transport such requestors from a pickup location to a drop-off location. Beyond single-requestor transports, so me on-demand transportation matching systems pair multiple requestors with a pro vider for shared transport to different (or the same) destination locations. To pair multiple requestors in a shared transport, on-demand transportation matchin g systems must often determine projected routes for transport by one or more pro vider vehicles in real (or near-real) time.
