Abstract

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News-Fresh data on robotics are presented in a new rep ort. According to news reporting from the Taiyuan Institute of Technology by New sRx journalists, research stated, "This research paper presents a comprehensive study of the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm for robot lo calization and navigation in unknown environments." Our news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Taiyuan Institute of Technology: "The SLAM algorithm is a widely used approach for building a map of an environment and estimating the robot's position within it, which is especiall y useful in dynamic and unstructured environments. The paper discusses various S LAM techniques, including the Kalman filter (KF) and GraphSLAM algorithms, and t heir use in probabilistic estimation of the robot's position and orientation. Th e paper also explores different path-planning techniques that can be used with t he map created by the SLAM algorithm to generate collision-free paths for the ro bot to navigate toward its goal. The paper also discusses recent advances in dee p learning-based SLAM algorithms and their applications in indoor navigation wit h ORB and RGB-D cameras."
