The assignee for this patent, patent number 11999450, is Shipshave AS (Stavanger , Norway). Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "BACKGROUND ART "Maintenance and inspection of ship hull is normally performed in dry dock. Dry dock inspection and maintenance is expensive, time consuming and the vessel is t aken out of active duty. Another disadvantage of performing works out of the wat er is that inspections cannot be performed in the working environment, meaning t hat flow patterns are poorly understood. Understanding the real flow patterns du ring voyage can provide information to improve the operation and fuel economy.
