"Description of the Related Art "A technique for recognizing a subject for focus detection is known in an imagin g device represented by a digital camera. For example, Japanese Patent Applicati on Laid-Open No. 2002-27315 discloses a camera system that extracts a feature am ount of a subject from a multiple exposure image acquired by an imaging device a nd specifies the position of the subject in the multiple exposure image based on the extracted feature amount.
