Abstract

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News-According to news reporting originating from Wash ington, D.C., by NewsRx journalists, a patent application by the inventors Chris tman, Andy (Pittsburgh, PA, US); Gemperle, Francine (Pittsburgh, PA, US); Hubert s, Atticus (Pittsburgh, PA, US), filed on December 5, 2023, was made available o nline on June 6, 2024. No assignee for this patent application has been made. Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "Within increasing numbers and types of environments, autonomo us vehicles may travel through areas and/or along pathways that are shared with other vehicles and/or pedestrians. Such other vehicles can include other autonom ous vehicles, semi-autonomous vehicles, and/or manually operated vehicles. The a utonomous vehicles can take a variety of forms and can be referred to using vari ous terms, such as mobile robots, robotic vehicles, automated guided vehicles, a nd/or autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). In some cases, these vehicles can be conf igured for operation in an autonomous mode where they self-navigate or in a manu al mode where a human directs the vehicle's navigation. Herein, vehicles that ar e configured for autonomous navigation are referred to as AMRs.
