By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News-A patent by the inventor Jacobsen, Nie ls Jul (Odense, DK), filed on January 29, 2021, was published online on June 4, 2024, according to news reporting originating from Alexandria, Virginia, by News Rx correspondents. Patent number 12001219 is assigned to Mobile Industrial Robots A/S (Odense Soe, Denmark). The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: "Autonomous devices, such as mobile robots, incl ude sensors, such as scanners or threedimensional (3D) cameras, to detect objec ts in their path or in their vicinity. These sensors have a limited field of vie w. As a result, autonomous devices may be unable to detect objects in their imme diate vicinity. For example, sensors on an autonomous device may be unable to de tect objects close to the ground and near to the autonomous device, particularly at its corners. This can be problematic, especially in a manufacturing environm ent where ground-level objects, such as forklifts, can move into the path of the autonomous device."
