Ac cording to news reporting from Erlangen, Germany, by NewsRx journalists, researc h stated, "Hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSPs) comprise a group of inherited n eurodegenerative disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and weakness. Botulinum toxin has been approved for lower limb spasticity following stroke an d cerebral palsy, but its effects in HSPs remain underexplored." Funders for this research include Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Bundesministe rium fur Bildung und Forschung, Else Kroner-Fresenius-Stiftung, Forschungsstiftu ng Medizin am Universitatsklinikum Erlangen.
