(New Orleans , LA, US), McGrath, Robert (Lisle, IL, US), filed on October 13, 2023, was publi shed online on June 4, 2024. The patent's assignee for patent number 12003858 is Auris LLC (New Orleans, Loui siana, United States). News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: "Large cities or cities with large populations can host a s ignificant amount of crime. The crime can be non-violent or violent crime and in volve the use of firearms. During crimes involving firearms, a user may fire a f irearm into the air or at various objects. Often times, authorities are notified about such a crime after the crime occurs and after the individuals involved ha ve traveled away from the area. Even in instances in which authorities are notif ied of a crime while the crime is occurring, the notification may take time to t ravel to the authorities and the authorities may not know the location of the cr ime or the authorities may receive the incorrect location of the crime. These ca uses for delay may result in the individuals committing the crime not being iden tified and/or the individuals having time to remove any evidence of being at the scene."
