By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News – Investigators publish new report on Ro botics. According to news reporting out of Worcester, Massachusetts, by NewsRx e ditors, research stated, “This letter presents a general approach for autonomous tight-clearance assembly of complex-shaped parts using a general-purpose robot manipulator equipped with a force/torque (F/T) sensor. Such autonomous assembly is challenging in the presence of relative part pose uncertainty due to inaccura cies in part and robot modeling, sensing and perception, and robot motion contro l, especially when this uncertainty exceeds the clearance between assembly compo nents.” Financial support for this research came from US Army DEVCOM Analysis Center.
