According to news reporting origi nating in Atlanta, Georgia, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “Sepsis is a major public health emergency and one of the leading causes of morbidity and mo rtality in critically ill patients. For each hour treatment is delayed, shock-re lated mortality increases, so early diagnosis and intervention is of utmost impo rtance.” Financial supporters for this research include National Institutes of Health (NI H) - USA, Surgical Critical Care Initiative - Department of Defense’s Health Pro gram-Joint Program Committee 6/Combat Casualty Care.
