By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News – Investigators discuss new findings in artificial intelligence. According to news originating from Skidmore College by NewsRx corr espondents, research stated, “Algorithmic technologies are widely applied in org anizational decision-making today, which can improve resource allocation and dec ision-making coordination to facilitate the accuracy and efficiency of the decis ion-making process within and across organizations.” Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from Skidmore College: “Howe ver, algorithmic controls also introduce and amplify organizational inequalities -workers who are female, people of color and the marginalized population, and wo rkers with low skills, a low level of education, or who have low technology lite racy can be disadvantaged and discriminated against due to the lack of transpare ncy, explainability, objectivity, and accountability in these algorithms. Throug h a systematic literature review, this study comprehensively compares three diff erent types of controls in organizations: technical controls, bureaucratic contr ols, and algorithmic controls, which led to our understanding of the advantages and disadvantages associated with algorithmic controls. The literature on the or ganizational inequality related to the employment of algorithmic controls is the n discussed and summarized. Finally, we explore the potential of trustworthy alg orithmic controls and participatory development of algorithms to mitigate organi zational inequalities associated with algorithmic controls.”
