Abstract

According to news originating from San Diego, Californi a, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “This study proposes an approach t o measure conservatism using machine learning techniques that are not constraine d by functional form restrictions.” Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from the University of C alifornia San Diego (UCSD), “We extend the differential timeliness model to allo w for observable characteristics related to conservatism to follow nonlinear rel ationships. By developing machine learning measures of conservatism, we draw att ention to potential benefits and drawbacks and show how its insights complement conventional measures.”
