According to news reporting originating fromYinchuan, People’s Republic of C hina, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “Dielectric elastomeractuators (DEAs) face an acknowledged challenge: On the one hand, the majority of elastom ers onlyachieve small electroactive deformation (<20% ) in the absence of prestretch; on the other hand, rareelastomers capable of sh owing large electroactive deformation require relatively complicated processingand chemistry. This work addresses this challenge by fabricating an elastomer wi th a network of large sidegroups, which achieves a very large electroactive def ormation (218%) without pre-stretch.”
