Abstract
The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied bythe inventors: “In quick-service restaurants (QSR), customers o ften have a variety of condiments, sauces and the like to choose from when order ing their meals. When ordering meals, such as from an instorecounter, from a dr ive-thru, or for delivery or mobile order pick-up, the condiments and sauces are oftenprovided in small, sealed containers that are placed into a bag along wit h the main meal items. Thishas historically been a manual process whereby the r estaurant team member places the desired type andnumber of containers into the bag in response to a request from the customer. However, incorrect ormissing co ndiment containers is one of the most common complaints from customers, and manu allyplacing the condiment containers into the bag is a time-consuming and chall enging task for the teammembers. Restaurants have not yet solved the challenge of accurately and quickly supplying condimentsin response to a customer order.”
