No assignee for this patent application has been made.Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Aground segment typically includes the ground-based elements of a spacecraft system used by operatorsand support personnel, as opposed to t he space segment and user segment. The ground segment enablesmanagement of a sp acecraft, and distribution of payload data and telemetry among interested partie s onthe ground. A ground segment may include one or more of ground (or Earth) s tations, which provide radiointerfaces with spacecraft, mission control (or ope rations) centers, from which spacecraft are managed,ground networks, which conn ect the other ground elements to one another, remote terminals, used bysupport personnel, spacecraft integration and test facilities, and launch facilities. Th e ground segmentis typically designed for one-to-one satellite control, with on e operator monitoring and manually issuingcommands to one satellite.”
