According to newsreporting originating in Thessal oniki, Greece, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “Cryptosporidium andGiardia are important parasitic protozoa due to their zoonotic potential an d impact on human health, andhave often caused waterborne outbreaks of disease. Detection of (oo)cysts in water matrices is challengingand extremely costly, t hus only few countries have legislated for regular monitoring of drinking water fortheir presence.”
