The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied bythe inventors: “In the field of microscopy, it is a crucial dem and to find an operational setting of themicroscope in order to achieve an opti mal image quality. Usually, the operational setting comprises aplurality of set ting parameters which have to be optimized simultaneously before the image acqui sitioncan be started. Optimizing the setting parameters is a cumbersome and tim e-consuming task for a user,which has to be repeated for each image acquisition . Therefore, in order to achieve an optimal imagequality in an easy and reprodu cible manner, it is highly desirable to provide the user with a tool to makeit easier for him or her to select an optimal operational setting.
