Abstract

According to news reportingout of Tucson, Arizona, by NewsRx ed itors, research stated, “In this work, a novel unsupervised machinelearning (ML ) method for automatic image segmentation of low velocity impact damage in carbo nfiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites has been developed. The method reli es on the use of nonparametricstatistical models in conjunction with the so-ca lled intensity-based segmentation, enabling oneto determine the thresholds of i mage histograms and isolate the damage.”
