Abstract
The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion suppliedby the inventors: “Typically, a battery comprises one or a plurali ty of current accumulators also calledelectrochemical generators, cells or elem ents. An accumulator is a device for producing electricity whereinchemical ener gy is converted into electrical energy. The chemical energy comes from electroch emicallyactive compounds deposited on at least one face of electrodes arranged in the accumulator. Electricalenergy is produced by electrochemical reactions d uring a discharge of the accumulator. The electrodes arearranged in a container and are electrically connected to current output terminals which provide electr icalcontinuity between the electrodes and an electrical consumer with which the accumulator is associated.
