For instance, conventional card-character-detectio n systems can capture a digitalimage of a character-bearing card and can identi fy information contained on the character-bearing card.Despite recent advances, conventional card-character-detection systems continue to suffer from a numberof disadvantages. For example, many conventional card-character-detection system s inaccurately identifyinformation from a character-bearing card by either miss ing digits, letters, or other characters entirely orpredicting such characters incorrectly. As a result, some conventional card-character-detection systems provide user interfaces that require excessive user interaction to correct inaccura te information, such as paymentinformation or driver-license information. Addit ionally, many conventional card-character-detectionsystems are insecure and rel y on inferior authentication techniques to authenticate payment informationfrom a character-bearing card.”
