The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied bythe inventors: “The existing single axis robot generally includ es a combined structure of a driving screwand a rotary motor. The driving screw is rotationally supported by a bearing seat. An output shaft of therotary moto r is connected to the driving screw through a coupling. A screw nut is in thread ed connectionwith the driving screw. An output member is fixed on the screw nut . The rotary motor operates and drivesthe driving screw to rotate, and thus cau ses the screw nut to move along an axial direction of the drivingscrew. The mov ement direction of the output member is parallel to the axial direction of the d rivingscrew. As a result, the output member cannot move in a direction perpendi cular to the axial direction ofthe driving screw.”
