According to news reporting out of Zurich,Switzerland, by NewsRx editors, r esearch stated, “Visual odometry (VO) is a method used to estimateself-motion o f a mobile robot using visual sensors. Unlike odometry based on integrating diff erential measurementsthat can accumulate errors, such as inertial sensors or wh eel encoders, VO is not compromisedby drift.”
