According to news originating from the Vels Institute of Scie nce by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “Fashion trend forecastingis a c rucial task for both academia and industry.”The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Vels Institute o f Science: “Althoughsome efforts have been devoted to tackling this challenging task, they only studied limited fashion elementswith highly seasonal or simple patterns, which could hardly reveal the real fashion trends. Towards insightfulfashion trend forecasting, this work focuses on investigating fine-grained fash ion element trends for specificuser groups. We first contribute a large-scale f ashion trend dataset (FIT) collected from social media withextracted time serie s fashion element records and user information. Furthermore, to effectively mode l thetime series data of fashion elements with rather complex patterns, we prop ose a Machine Learning whichtakes advantage of the capability in modeling time series data. Moreover, it leverages internal and externalknowledge in fashion d omain that affects the time-series patterns of fashion element trends.”
