The simulation models can be used inthe decision-making process to enhanc e field performance. The ability to search the options and evaluatedifferent co ntrol scenarios may improve infill well placement, well count determination, wat erfloods, andenhanced oil recovery. However, the likelihood of a model capturin g the real reservoir performance isrelated to how close its output matches hist orical production data. Hence, history-matching is used toensure the relevance of the asset subsurface numerical models.
