Abstract

Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“The detection, identification and positioning of submarine ca bles are recognized technical problems inthe field of marine engineering. The t raditional method is mainly based on manual observation by divers.In recent yea rs, with the rapid development of underwater robot technology, the technical met hod ofautomatic inspection through underwater robots equipped with various load s of acoustics, optics andmagnetics is attracting attention. However, because s ubmarine cables are mostly laid below the surface ofthe seabed, optical methods , as well as most acoustic methods, do not work well. The acoustic methodsuch a s shallow profiling can detect subsurface, but is limited by the acoustic detect ion resolution due tothe limited diameter of the cable. The method based on the inversion of the geomagnetic anomaly fieldis the most potential method at pres ent to detect the submarine buried cable. However, due to the lackof in-depth r esearch on the detection process and detection method, the signal is still inter fered by thecomplex background field in practical applications, the low reliabi lity of the suspected anomaly and otherdefects are presented.
