News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors:“Skiers, while on vacation, spend hours of valuable time in specialty ski shops purchasing ski boots thatneed to be custom fitted. The ski er must be physically present for this to be accomplished. It takes timeto mold , grind, punch and build custom ski boots with custom footbeds. It also takes ex pertise to createa custom comfortable fit. This time spent in an establishment takes away from the skier’s time on theslopes, time with family, and other vaca tion activities. You cannot currently purchase a custom fittedski boot on the i nternet because the skier’s physical legs and feet have to be present. Therefore , thereis a need for custom fitted ski boots to be able to be purchased off the internet, without the skier beingphysically present and prior to a skier going on his or her ski vacation.”
