According to newsreporting out of the College of Engineering by NewsRx editors, research stated, “Fiber-reinforced polymers(FRP s) are increasingly being used as a composite material in concrete slabs due to their high strengthto-weight ratio and resistance to corrosion. However, FRP-re inforced concrete slabs, similar to traditionalsystems, are susceptible to punc hing shear failure, a critical design concern.”
