Field of the Invention“The present invention relates generally to using augmented intelligence to anal yze urinary samplescollected from patients for clinical diagnosis.“Ⅲ. General Background“Microscopic examination of the urinary sediment is a tool of proven clinical ut ility. However, it requirestraining and expertise for proper identification of urinary casts. Incorrect cast identification my lead toflawed clinical decision making. Current limitations of urine sediment analysis include accessibility because specialized analysis may be available only at academic and research center s; time-consumption anddelays because of processing, analysis, findings, and va lidation from specialists increase current workflowtime and diagnosis requires timely decisions to be clinically relevant; sample processing requires specialized processing techniques and microscope settings are required correctly analyze samples; results can beinterpreted incorrectly or incompletely because commerci ally available automated urine analyzers failto identifying casts or acanthocyt es. Accordingly, what is needed is a machine learning approach forautomated rea l-time identification of urinary sediments.”
