The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied bythe inventors: “Numerous cleaning devices capable of autonomous movement within swimming pools andspas currently exist. The most common of the se devices are swimming pool cleaners, which often areeither hydraulic or robot ic in type. Hydraulic cleaners vary water flow for movement, while robotic cleaners typically employ electric motors to cause motion. Hydraulic pool cleaners, f urthermore, subdivide into“pressure-side” and “suction-side” cleaners, with pre ssure-side cleaners being fluidly connected to outputsof pumps of pool water ci rculation systems and suction-side cleaners being fluidly connected to inputs ofsuch pumps. U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2021/0032888 of Lancry, et al. (“Lancry”), whoseentire contents are incorporated herein by this reference, details an exemplary robotic pool cleaner usefulto clean water of an illustrat ed swimming pool. In use, a pump on-board the pool cleaner operates todraw pool water into the cleaner, where the water passes through the filter (so as to tra p debris entrainedin the flowing water) before exiting to return to the pool.
