Abstract
The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied bythe inventors: “Extended reality (XR) systems, such as augmente d reality (AR) systems, are increasinglybeing implemented in human-machine inte rfaces (HMIs) for interacting with various types of real-worldenvironments. In an AR system, virtual computer-generated objects are projected onto a real-world environment. In some AR systems, a user wears a special transparent device, suc h as AR glasses, throughwhich the user views physical objects in the real world . A processor associated with the transparent devicerenders one or more XR obje cts, which may also be virtual objects, and projects the rendered XR objectsont o a surface of the XR device. To the user, these XR objects appear as objects in the physical real-worldenvironment.
