University of New South Wales Reports Findings in Machine Learning (Enhancing novel isoform discovery: leveraging nanopore longread sequencing and machine lear ning approaches)

Abstract

According to newsreporting out of Sydney, Australia, by NewsRx editors, research stated, “Long-read sequencing technologiescan capture entire RNA transcripts in a single sequencing read, reducing the ambiguity in co nstructingand quantifying transcript models in comparison to more common and ea rlier methods, such as short-readsequencing. Recent improvements in the accurac y of long-read sequencing technologies have expandedthe scope for novel splice isoform detection and have also enabled a far more accurate reconstruction ofco mplex splicing patterns and transcriptomes.”
